How to get to Miyajima

how to get to Miyajima from Hiroshima station and the Peace Park

by the local trains

You have to change lines from the Shinkansen to the local line at Hiroshima station. This is the easiest way to get to Miyajima. All southbound trains leave from the 1st local platform, so you can take any trains there.
It takes 26 minutes to get to Miyajimaguchi station, and that costs 400 yen for a one-way tic-ket.

There's a station with a similar name on this line.(Caution! Miyauchi-kushido←→Miyajima-guchi)
I have seen foreigners mishear the announcement and get off at Miyauchi-kushido station. I used to point out to them. But don't worry, the next train comes at least 10 minutes later, on time.

Miyajima-guchi station ia a small and old station, and you will see the Miyajima-guchi pier in front of you across a crowded road. (Caution! The road is always crowded and dangerous, so you should go through the underground passage. There have been many accidents involving pedestrians here.)
It takes less than 10 minutes.

by the city cars

If you want to drop by the Peace Park on the way to Miyajima, it will be more convenient to ride the city car.

After you go out Shinkansen exit, go through the overpass, then go out from the south entrance, you will see the city car terminal in front of HIroshima station. You can get on the city car bound for Hiroden-Miyajima-guchi or Eba, then get off the eleventh station. It's the Genbaku-domu-mae station.(there's an announcement in English)
It costs 160 yen for a one-way ticket. .

When you restart to Miyajima, you can get on the city car bound for Miyajima-guchi from the same station.
It will take about an hour between Peace Park and Hiroden Miyajima-guchi terminal. Hiroden Mi-yajima-guchi terminal is just next to the Miyajima-guchi ferry pier. .
It costs 270 yen for a one-way ticket. .

by the ferry lines

There's the ferryboat plying between Peace Park and Miyajima Island. It starts at the landing place, about 100 meters down the river from A-bomb dome. It just next to the garden cafe by the Motoyasu-bashi bridge. .
You can't make a reservation in advance, so you have to apply to ride at the landing place. There are 12 regular services to Miyajima Island between 8:50 am and 5:10 pm a day, but schedules are subject to change the weather or the tidal levees. It takes about 50 minutes and costs 1.900 yen for a one-way ticket.

You can see A-bomb dome, Peace Park, the watersides of greenish Hiroshima city on the river, then you will cruise between a tons of oyster-rafts in Setouchi Inland Sea National Park.
I bet it's an impressive scene than you've ever seen.
